Worship
We, as image bearers of Christ, are created to worship. At McQuiston Memorial we are committed to worshipping the Triune God of the Bible; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
One of the ways we worship God is to meet together in fellowship each Sunday to engage in the word of God as it is preached, to participate in prayer and praise, to bring our offerings to God and to encourage one another in our faith.
Each Sunday we have two opportunities to meet with God and one another in this way.
Our morning service at 11am is our largest gathering and is a multi-generational event, welcoming young and old. As such our praise is a blend of contemporary songs and classic hymns. At McQuiston we are passionate about bringing our praise to God in this way and many members of the congregation are involved in leading us in different styles of praise through our praise group, our worship band as well as through the piano and the organ.
We aim to provide a warm place of welcome for visitors and members alike and are often found encouraging and sharing with one another over tea and coffee after many of our services. Children and families are also well catered for. Creche facilities are available during the service and our new children's programme "M n M Kids" provides a lively and fun packed time for children to learn about God. The church is also equipped with a link area which is a homely space, often made use of during the service by parents of young babies in particular.
The evening service at 7.00pm is often more low key, and allows for a more in depth time of teaching. This service is often led by members of the congregation and during some parts of the year involves dvd and multi-media presentations and the opportunity to particpate in lively group discussion. The praise group, or musical group both comprised of younger members contribute regularly. Hospitality and community is important to us and so we meet after each evening service for tea and coffee and an opportunity to catch up with old friends, make new friends and share what Jesus is doing in our lives
