Discipleship Groups at McQuiston 2023
Discipleship Groups at McQuiston meet every two weeks to study God's Word. You are welcome to come along to any of the groups to have a taste of what happens and what we do.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic we had an early morning group that met every 2nd Tuesday at 7am, a group that met every 2nd Wednesday in the Church at 7.30pm, and then 2 house groups that meet fortnightly at 7.30pm in different areas of East Belfast.
Having gone throughout the various lockdowns, restrictions and the online zoom meetings, we are back to meeting face to face. All groups now meet in the church on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 7.00pm.
We have a time of prayer until 7.45pm and then Discipleship Group from 8.00pm. Coffee and catch up in between. It is our aim, in the future, to spread out once more and return to house groups.
These groups each provide opportunities to go deeper in your Christian Walk, and to share life with other Christians.
This session we are following study of The Sermon on the Mount entitled Free to Live! which comprises 12 sessions to guide us through what is the most well known of all Jesus’s teachings. If ever there was an exquisitely cut jewel of a sermon, this is it.
Flashes of bright truth glint from every facet revealing the amazing skill of the Master Jeweller to be the Light of the World. In each study we will try to squint with a jeweller’s eye at just one facet of that sermon…at the flawless qualities of simple faith which we find in what we have come to call the Beatitudes and that most wonderful of prayers, The Lord’s Prayer.
In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus deals with Christian character, influence, righteousness, secret life, piety and ambitions or desires. Our walk with Jesus continues, he will not leave or forsake us.
