The congregation of McQuiston Memorial Presbyterian Church have set up a Food Bank. Our congregation wants to help meet some of the physical needs in our community and hopes that a number of food parcels would be beneficial to those who are struggling and unable to feed their families in these hard economic times.
This is a free service for any one who needs help, so if you feel that we can be of any assistance please come and see us.
There is no requirement of church membership or connection.
The community can make use of this service by calling at the church halls in Moneyrea Street Monday to Friday between the hours of 10.00am to 3.00pm.
August 2014 update...
The Storehouse has been quiet over the summer months with people being on holiday. It is now coming into the Autumn / Winter season again so we now want to build up our supplies to help those in our community who are in need.
Your help in this outreach would be very much appreciated, by either leaving food in the trolley in the link, or giving a donation towards the cost of supplies. Thank you for your continued support in this work.
Alan Bousfield.
March 2014
Storehouse is part of our outreach to give help to those in our community who are in need. Each week are congregation donates non- perishable groceries which are then packed into boxes for distribution. From its launch in October 2012 over 160 boxes/bags have been distributed to various organisations including Willowfield CAP Centre, Thompson House, Mountpottinger Presbyterian Church and Belfast City Storehouse.
Many thanks to all those who have contributed either by donating goods or financial aid. Anyone wishing to donate can put their supplies in the trolley which is located at the left-hand side in the Link.

McQuiston Storehouse Update December 2013
Our storehouse is now operating at full strength now after the summer. We make up 8 or 9 boxes every fortnight which are distributed through CAP at Willowfield Parish Church and John McCandless Community Worker in Mountpottinger Presbyterian Church and Thompson House on the Antrim Road.
Thanks to all those who contribute by food or donation to this deserving ministry. On harvest Sunday you supplied donations which made up 3 large boxes of food which were donated to the Belfast Storehouse. This storehouse distributes food to those in need throughout Belfast. Thanks for that special effort. It was really appreciated. With Christmas approaching it is important that we continue this ministry to help those who are in need at this time.
Holidays Update!!! 09/06/2013
The storehouse is continuing to help those in need but stock is running low at the moment. It would be appreciated if food donations were forthcoming to enable us to have a sustainable supply over the holidays. Once again many thanks to all those who have contributed either by food or financial support. Please help to keep this outreach work in operation.
Alan Bousfield.
McQuiston Storehouse update... 09/02/13
Our Food Bank is going from strength to strength each week. We make up approximately 12 bags and boxes of different sizes every fortnight. These items are available to anyone in our community who is having difficulty feeding their families in these hard economic times. This service is available to everyone whether they are members of our congregation or not.
If you know of anyone who could benefit from the food store please let them know about it. We are at present distributing the parcels to Johnston House on the Antrim Road, and to the local community through Willowfield Parish Church. We are in short supply for some items such as tea, coffee and toilet rolls, so it would be a help if there was an increase in these items.
Many thanks to everyone who contributes to the trolley. Your good work is very much appreciated by me and also those who receive the food parcels. Keep up the good work.
