William Henry Taylor Service Number 4395 Leading Stoker HMAS Penguin, Royal Australian Navy
William was born on 21 March 1895 in Ballyvester, Co. Down of parents William B and Eliza Ann Taylor 32 Ballyvester. They had 5 children namely Mary, William Henry, James E, Emily T and Sydney. Mr. Taylor was a farmer.
William enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy on 6 September 1914.
He died of pulmonary tuberculosis on 30 December 1917 and is remembered at the Rookwood Necropolis, Sydney, Australia.
William’s name is included on the Presbyterian Roll of Honour.
