Wallace was the son of Dr John T and Mrs Maria Woodside, address unknown.  Prior to the war he was the Boys’ Brigade Captain in Cregagh Presbyterian church, Belfast.
 Wallace had a brother Charles R Wood side who was a Private in the North Irish Horse, who died of wounds on 8 November 1918 in France.
 Wallace is buried at Puchevillers British Cemetery, France.
 Wallace and his brother Charles are commemorated on a Memorial Tablet in Cregagh Presbyterian church, Belfast.
 Wallace’s name is included on the Presbyterian Roll of Honour under Cregagh Presbyterian church.
