Thomas Ferguson Service Number 721 Gunner South African Heavy Artillery, 73rd Battery
Thomas was born in son of Thomas Hugh and Annie Ferguson, 109 Killowen Street, Belfast.
Initially Thomas served in the war in South Africa between the Allies and Germany and then later serving for one year and 7 months in France. The McQuiston church magazine records Thomas as a typical Colonial soldier, and a gallant young man.
Died on 4 August 1917 and is buried at Dickebusch New Military Extension, Ypres, Belgium.
Thomas’ name is included on the Presbyterian Roll of Honour.
