Samuel Fulton Service Number 32014 Corporal South Lancashire Regiment 2nd Battalion (Prince of Wales’ Volunteers)
Samuel was born in Omagh in 1883. He married Minnie Fulton (nee Clarke) on 8 April 1912 and had two daughters namely Martha Grace and Ethel. The family lived at 48 Glentoran Street, Belfast.
Samuel enlisted in Belfast in January 1902 and had a long military service in India, Africa and South Africa all before the Great War. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal on 13 January 1915 and embarked for France on 14 December 1916.
Samuel was killed in action in France on 21 August 1918 and is buried at Locre No.10 Cemetery, Belgium.
Samuel’s widow Minnie received a War Gratuity of £24 and 10 shillings.
Samuel’s name is included on the Presbyterian Roll of Honour.
