John Snowden      Service Number 14/6325 Corporal Royal Irish Rifles, 14th Battalion ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

 John was born in Ballymacarrett in 894 of parents Matthew J and Mary Snowden, Carleton Street, Belfast.  They had 5 children namely John, Matthew, Martha Jane, Robert and Francis.  According to the 1911 census Mr. Snowden was a general labourer and John was a drapers shop man.
 
Died on 5 May 1917 and is remembered with honour at Pond Farm Cemetery, Heuvelland, Belgium.
 
His father received a War Gratuity of £10.
 
John’s name is included on the Presbyterian Roll of Honour.
