James Currie Service Number 12643 Rifleman Royal Irish Rifles, 8th Battalion
James was born in Glasgow and was the son of Edward and Ellen Jane Currie (nee McKeown). The family home was 8 Frankfort Street, Belfast.
James was married to Sarah and they lived at 14 Canton Street, Belfast.
James enlisted with the Royal Irish Rifles on 5 October 1915 and was posted to France. He was killed in action on 2 July 1916 and is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
His wife Sarah received a War Gratuity of £8.
