Prayer Points for This Week
SUNDAY: Pray for our services today, and ask that God will bless the preaching of his word. Pray for the nation in our political confusion and division. Pray that a way forward will be made clear. Pray that our nation will come to a new spiritual awakening.
Pastoral Care of Manse Families Panel. Pray that ministers and their families will find time to be together as a family unit, and opportunities for rest and refreshment over Christmas and the New Year. Pray for those ministers who live alone that this time of year would be one where bonds with relatives and friends are deepened.
Each day as you begin read Ephesians 4:1-6 and pray as follows:-
MONDAY: Give thanks to God for the calling you have received and that through Jesus you have been adopted into his family. Thank God that by grace through faith in Jesus your sins have been forgiven.
TUESDAY: Pray that our attitude within the church family may be one of humility towards one another, and pray for each other that we may become more like Jesus in our attitudes and deeds.
WEDNESDAY: Think about your attitude to others and how you treat them. Where those attitudes are lacking or where you have deliberately or unconsciously hurt others in the family confess your sin and seek to be reconciled with those you have hurt. Pray for a deeper unity in the church family and that God would prevent our unity in Jesus being harmed.
THURSDAY: Let’s each pray for patience today. Ask that we would learn to patiently wait for the things we need and ask of God while being careful to ask according to his will. Pray also for patience with other people in your family, the workplace or in the church family.
FRIDAY: Pray that we would be united in the cause of Jesus Christ, and that God will increase the church and add to our number those who come to know and trust Jesus.
SATURDAY: Continue to pray for others in the church family who are ill or in need, who are hurting or lonely.
Fresh Light is the denomination's counselling service. Pray for wisdom for those who oversee, administer and deliver the ministry of Fresh Light. Ask that God would use it especially in the lives of those for whom the coming Christmas season will be difficult.
Tritonville Close Sheltered Housing, Dublin. Give thanks to God for the community at Tritonville Close & for His many blessings to those who live there. Pray for the residents & their families, that they may know God’s love & mercy. Pray for healing for those who are sick, and for God’s comfort for those who are mourning and lonely. Give thank for the work of Linda Wray in this and other church projects.

On Sunday morning 6th January 2019 at 11.00am we are uniting with our friends from Mountpottinger and Ravenhill churches here in McQuiston for worship and the Sacrament of Communion. A special programme of children's activities will be arranged. As far as we know this is the first time this has happened and it is a wonderful opportunity to express our unity in Jesus Christ as workers together with God in this inner east part of the Presbytery. We hope that you will be excited by this and that as many of our members as possible join us on that Sunday morning. Please pray that God the Holy Spirit will bless us and advance the cause of the gospel through our partnership.
