Hi Folks, Happy Easter! We have a few different resources for you that might be useful today and over the next week. There are lots of resources available on the internet if you search but these are a few at hand that don’t require lots of resources apart from being able to print off some sheets. If you haven’t got a printer the Easter story book can be looked through, emoji Easter story and Easter seek and find can be used online. I hope you find the video of the Easter story and the family devotion time with Douglas talks useful. Happy Easter. 1. The Easter Story Video 2. Douglas talks about the real meaning of easter, click https://douglastalks.com/the-real-meaning-of-easter/ 3. Some further resources below
Just a quick hello to all our small and big humans. How are you doing? Well done for all the hard work you’ve been doing at home, mums and dads you are doing a great job and kids I know it’s not been easy, not being able to go out lots but you’ve been doing a great job listening to your parents. It’s all been a little different over the last few weeks but I hope you have enjoyed the many different activities you’ve been doing as a family. The last McQ kids I posted on Facebook gave you some resources you might find useful to do as a family. We haven’t wanted to overwhelm you with too much information, links and digital media, you’ve already had lots from school I’m sure but we wanted to highlight some things that might be useful over the next few weeks as we celebrate the Easter Holidays. This Sunday has a special name called Palm Sunday when we celebrate the arrival of Jesus into Jerusalem. Why not check out this video which tells the story of Jesus arrival Then maybe head over to watch Douglas where he explains what Palm Sunday is all about and then you can chat together as a family over some of the questions... go to https://douglastalks.com/jesus-is-the-king-palm-sunday/ Can I also encourage you to maybe find some of the songs you know from church and messy church on YouTube and have a time of singing out loud and worshipping God together as a family... You will definitely know this one And there are lots more that you can find too. Lastly, here are some links to ideas of things to make, colour and do.
Let me know if there are specific resources or things you would like by sending me a direct message (Kerry)
Keep an eye and we will post more over the week to come. Kerry Sutton Folks, we have been having some daily thoughts for the big humans on the Facebook page but in McQuiston the small humans are really important to us too. We are trying to think of ways we can help families look at Gods word together. I hope to put up some different ideas on both Facebook and the website in the future but for now I want to bring a few ideas to you, If you have Instagram Jen Sketches will be reading the story David and the very big Giant on Sunday 22nd at 10am, go take a look. Secondly why not think about doing something altogether as a family. The following link has some different family devotions you can do. There are different topics, they include a video, bible verses to look up, family time questions and a prayer. www.douglastalks.com/posts/ could be a great opportunity to spend some time together looking at what God has to say to us. Lastly, we’ve been told lots of different songs we can sing whilst we wash our hands why not try saying the Lords Prayer whilst you wash your hands. Maybe it’s the time to help teach your children the words of it. Our friend Richard in Lucan Presbyterian has been putting up some vlogs on YouTube. This one is called Wash and Pray, def worth watching as the kids go through the Lords Prayer. https://youtu.be/lElKMopKTgc Folks this is just the start, if you have any ideas that you have used with your children and think others would benefit from them please send me a message (Kerry) and I we’ll get them put up. We’re all in this together. Hope you find some of these ideas helpful. 😊👍 |
